draMAStic dance works will be in residence at the Playhouse in late March, in preparation to premiere their newest  contemporary ballet.  On the two successive Saturdays, Company members will offer a master class, one in ballet  and one in tap.

On Sunday, March 22, Author Kate Gray will lead a discussion of her debut novel, Carry the Sky at the Cape Charles Civic Center, 500 Tazewell Avenue, Cape Charles, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All who have read her book are invited to attend and participate.

The Friends of the CCML will host two nationally renowned authors in the Cape Charles Memorial Library on Monday, March 23, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Each author will read excerpts from her latest novel. Kate Gray, from Portland, Oregon, will read from Carry the Sky and Sheri Reynolds from Cape Charles, will read from The Homespun Wisdom of Myrtle T. Cribb, as well as from her even newer, yet to be published book! Light refreshments will be available.

ULTRA: Codebreaking in World War II  
Thursday, March 26, 2015; 7:00 - 9:00pm   
Cost: $10 (free for Chincoteague Veterans)

An exploration of the importance of Allied codebreaking in the victory over the Axis forces in WWII with a brief look at earlier code making and breaking methods. Register online (credit card) or in person (cash or check) at Sundial Books.

Letters From the War
The Chincoteague Island Theatre Company will debut a special Chincoteague Heritage Weekend production, based on letters and interviews collected for the Chincoteague Island Museum's WWII Exhibit. The readings will take place at the Island Theater on March 28th at 7:00 PM, followed by a 1940's musical performance by the Delmarva Dolls at 7:30. One ticket covers both events and will go on sale Monday, March 9.

A collective art exhibition celebrating the Eastern Shore

Join us for the opening reception

First Light is the title of the exhibition celebrating our beloved Eastern Shore. A splendid and mysterious photo by Jim Walker captures the essence of beauty as dawn lifts the mantle of night. For this unique quality he was chosen to illustrate the poster and all promotional material for the anticipated exhibition.

Fine artists and Virginia artisans will be show casing their impressions of this land through their work displayed in the gallery. A variety of beautiful hand made objects as well as fine jewelry and exquiste paintings and sculptures are going to be displayed.

The Stage Door Gallery in Cape Charles is located on the main street on Mason Avenue. It is affiliated with Arts Enter, a non for profit organization that covers a wide gamit of the Visual and Performing Arts in Cape Charles.

It is with great pleasure that the Board of Directors welcomes Dr. Erik Neil, the recently appointed Executive Director of the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk , to be the guest of honor for this special occasion. Patrons will have the privilige to listen to a few comments given by Dr.Neil in regards to the gallery as well as to the exciting events happening at the Chrysler.  Dr. Neil is known in the museum world for the breadth of his artistic interests, strong management skills, a genial personality, and a collaborative approach to work and leadership, with a common goal of making the good even better.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Ed Bull will lead the seminar and will describe how sufferers of peripheral neuropathy resulting from diabetes, chemotherapy, Agent Orange, and other diseases, may be helped by Class 4 Laser treatment.

Bull is from the Shore, and is a “come-back” from South Carolina; he operates a chiropractic center in Cape Charles.

These seminars are occasionally rescheduled or postponed on short notice. Prospective attendees are urged to check the Seminar’s website (www.SciPhi.org) within two days of a scheduled date.

The Science and Philosophy Seminar is an informally organized group of adults that meets more or less regularly to explore and discuss a wide array of topics, ranging from philosophical speculation to scientific research.

Individual Seminar members generally lead the group’s meetings. Occasionally, speakers from outside of the group are invited to make presentations to the Seminar. All Seminar presentations are open to the public. No admission fees are charged.
