Wild Oyster Tour

Head out on the seaside to an oyster rock, pluck a wild oyster, shuck it and taste it on the spot. There's nothing like it.

Oyster Side-by-Side Taste Test

On this tour, you have a chance to compare two different types of oysters: wild and cultivated. We'll head out on the seaside to an oyster rock, pluck a wild oyster, shuck it and slurp it down. Next, we'll taste a cultivated oyster grown by a local aqua farm, and compare the flavors.

DIG EM! Kayak Clams/Oysters Tour

True Clam Connoisseurs know that Cherrystone Creek on Virginia’s Eastern Shore is the place to go for the world’s best littlenecks. The locals say the only way to make them better is to dig them yourself. On the SouthEast Expeditions Kayak Clamming trip, that’s exactly what you’ll do. As part of our partnership with a local, family owned clam farm, our guides will show you how clam Aqua-culture has grown to become one of the largest industries on the Eastern Shore.

After you learn the tricks of the trade, it’s time to get out of your boats and get to work. You and your family will be digging for your dinner just like Eastern Shore residents have done for generations. The $50 cost of the trip includes your first dozen clams. Additional clams are available at the wholesale market rate. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn how Eastern Shore “Aqua-farmers” raise, care for, and harvest the clams you’ll find in the finest restaurants in the region.

If Aqua-culture seems like a little more culture than you prefer, we also offer a “Wild Clam Wrangling” Kayak Tour. Get down and dirty on the Seaside of the Shore and learn how to “sign” for wild clams. The cost is the same, but what you take home for dinner depends on the skills you develop in the marsh.
